The foundation stone of DDG was for the first time laid down by Shri. Amit Singh Negi in 2020, when the whole world was struggling with the pandemic. The educational sector faced adverse effects due to COVID-19, wherein all schools and colleges were closed, especially the visually impaired students whose primary mode of learning is via touch were severely impacted. To enable the smooth and uninterrupted continuation of learning for such students, Shri. Amit Singh Negi took this remarkable initiative of establishing DDG and teaching these students online. He vowed to provide "Computer Literacy" to students sitting at home itself and, since then, DDG is imparting free computer literacy to visually impaired students. He has trained more than 500 students out of which some are successfully serving in various Government institutions and getting appreciated for their outstanding performances. The free computer training programme commences on 1st April every year and culminates on 31st March of the next year. DDG is committed to provide services to the persons with visual impairment and to empower them to lead a life with dignity. In the words of Shri. Amit Singh Negi, "Computer literacy is a sword in the hands of a visually impaired person which will help him to fight every battle of life".
“A smartphone in one hand and a laptop in another, this ocean of knowledge will take us further and further.” Leaving no stone unturned, DDG understands the fact that the task of making each and every visually impaired person a computer literate is a tough nut to crack. So, in order to bring the working professionals under the umbrella of DDG, a special training programme is being run wherein a apart from the computer literacy and additional 24*7 support is provided to them in all matters regarding computer and assistive technologies. The objective here is to enable them to work in their respective workplaces without any hassle . They should never underperform because of their inability to use computers and mark an excellent performance , acknowledgements and appreciation. DDG strives towards following n integrated mechanism which will facilitate these students to achieve a socially inclusive environment which is rooted on their capabilities to excel and succeed.
Another remarkable effort of DDG to reach the remotest possibility of educating the visually impaired persons is the provision of individual classes. This domain tries to cater to such students who by some reasons not able to cope up with the group classes. This reason can be the slow learning capacity of a student who requires extra attention and special teaching methodology which is taken care by Shri Amit Singh Negi. This reason can also be a quick learning ability of the student whereby with the teachers extra attention , he can do wonders. Another important reason can be the non availability of the student during the class timings. DDG envisions to provide a flexible framework to the students and hold their hand tightly till they make accessibility their best friend.
